The Woods began in 2006 as the bedroom recording project of songwriter and visual artist, Ian Dudley. The musical project, named after Ian's imaginative perspective on Tallahassee, Florida, grew to include over 30 friends and family members who all contributed to the band's self-titled debut, released in May 2008 by Plug Research Records. The album musically narrates a story of a boy whose faulty air conditioning sends him on a high seas adventure.
