Unlike the majority of American hip-hop anthems lamenting the struggle on the streets, K'naan's come with this legitimization: he grew up in a civil war--in Mogadishu no less. Too bad his best imagery comes from his worst song. He sings "You're so bright, you shine like my TV" and frankly, I believe him.
