If you lump Darlings in with the new garage-rock revival I understand, but you're wrong; their riffs are too clean, their style too thoughtful, their lyrics too ... meaningful to fit in with the crowds "doin' the drag" (as it were) along with up-and-comers like Ty Segall, Black Time, Intelligence and several other groups. If there is a trace of garage-rock it doesn't even emerge until "Friends Forever," and that's for a brief moment.
