Big concert! Talib Kweli and Mos Def performing on the same ticket, so you know that everyone was thinking the same thing: Blackstar! Boy was it sick. Chris will cover it later. First though, Jay Electronica opened with a humor infused set heavily influenced by slam poetry. Really original and clear rhymes. Jay did a great job of warming the crowd up for a highly-anticipated night of hip hop. Following some downtime, Talib Kweli burst onstage and for the next hour he proceeded to blast the adoring crowd with spitfire verse after spitfire verse backed by a heavy, pounding beats. [...]
