Richard Hawley's a suave performer and the performance video for "For Your Lover, Give Some Time" wisely goes that route: It's shot in shadowy black and white, Hawley smoking the cigarettes he's willing to give up, strumming a guitar, looking at his prized Chuck Berry photo, and saying he'll get your name tattooed in a rose across his chest. The song's comes from Hawley's sixth, especially downcast album Truelove's Gutter . As far as giving your lover time, the collection features the amazing 10-minute "Remorse Code" and an even more extended closer, "Don't You Cry." True to his word. [...]
