On Tuesday, I made my final visit to the hospital for my last round of rabies shots (background here ; to read me kvetching to my local paper, go here ). There were 8 people in the ER's waiting room - three-quarters of them were wearing masks due to suspected swine flu. The remaining quarter was made up of myself and a fellow who had cut up his pinky finger so bad that - in his words - "the fat was coming out".
