Hot September Sun The week ahead, instead of bringing fall weather to southern California, brings a return of scorching temperatures. Yesterday I looked longingly at the beautiful winter squashes that are now appearing at the farmer's market. No way could I turn on the oven for an hour to bake them to melting deliciousness, not even at night. Another week of salads and whatever I can find to cook outside on the barbeque.
