Blog: Terrapin Sound

Pop/Rock/Blues artist John Mayer (www.johmayer.com) recently released a new single off of his upcoming album Battle Studies entitled "Who Says." It's a pretty straightforward short acoustic song, mixing soft acoustic picking with some light vocals, drums and a brief piano interlude. It also reminds me a lot of another one of his acoustic ballads, "Stop this Train" off of Continuum. The lyrics are introspective and confident but at times have an almost depressing feel to them, which surprised me for a Mayer song.
