If you didn't manage to get tickets to Sufjan (to hear his cool new classical project, BQE), then I'd suggest hitting up the Rural Alberta Advantage/Kittens Ablaze Show. RAA recently got signed to Saddle Creek (Conor Oberst's old label) and will probably have a nice, long career ahead of them. I'm not bowled over by their music, but they have some nice, easy indie tunes. Like the mp3 below. It's a good song for the fall, full of nostalgia and romance and deep strings.
