I think it's safe to say most of the 4,000 people packed into the Palladium Ballroom on Friday night were there to see (or to be seen at) Wilco, but I for one was rather interested to see how the neo-singer/songwriter stylings of Liam Finn would sound in the cavernous venue. When I got there was both surprised and impressed to find the Aussie heartthrob wasn't relying on a backing band to fill out his live sound.
