Last week, at the Iggy Pop book signing , he mentioned this is his favorite band right now. I totally see why, and I think my New Orleans friends would be into these guys. The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is from Chicago, and you can tell the difference between a group like this and say Rebirth that come out of New Orleans. It appears to be the horn section. I think trumpet players in New Orleans see legends like Louis Armstrong. and think that to present a big sound one has to blow hard (don't take this wrong). [...]
