Vampire Weekend's upcoming album, Contra , is shaping up to be the indie music event of 2010 as each single released even further absorbs listeners. Cousins , the newest song from the band, is a fantastically chaotic bombardment of African percussion that showcases the unique voice of lead singer Ezra Koenig (though the lyrics are somewhat questionable). After listening intensely to both Cousins and Horchata , however, it is quite obvious that Contra is going to be evolutionary, not revolutionary (not a bad thing). [...]
