Today was new music discovery Wednesday for HappyParts. It was on my planner to learn about the indie music world in China. Following the long-tail, and knowing there are indeed authentic concerns for Chinese Youth to rebel against, the music must be on fire. I discovered a tour thats in mid-flight back east. (Ironically, not lots of coverage from jetset outposts - beyond Brooklyn Vegan - godspeed 4 the Mp3's) The tour is being presented by one of two, indies from Beijing, Maybe Mars . (What is the other label? Do Tell.) Maybe Mars also operates a club in Bejing called D-22 . Their artists cite influences [...]
