First, the encouraging news: 6Music has received seven nominations in this year's Sony Radio Awards . Amongst the shortlisted names are Jarvis Cocker, Lauren Laverne, Adam & Joe, Huey Morgan and Steve Lamacq. It's a nice acknowledgment of the high regard in which the station is held. And only slightly undermined by Nick Ferrari getting five nominations for his rotten show. And - oh, sweet jesus - even nominated that toe-curling Bono poem about Elvis for something. The recently downsized Radcliffe and Maconie show has been nominated for best music programme. [...]
