HANK ALTOGETHER: I gotta admit, this "Record Club" thing Beck's doing started out as an interesting idea, but I was doubtful I'd ever pay that much attention. After all, what is the point? I really wasn't keen on the reshaping of the Velvet Underground and after listening to Beck & Wilco's work with Skip Spence, I was still on the fence. For some reason, tho, these INXS reworkings are totally engrossing for me. Maybe it's the gorgeous camera work or Beck's weird shirt/scarf thing. [...]
