London's Portico Quartet are a modern jazz quartet whose new album Isla was recently released on Real World Records. The album was recorded at Abbey Road by legendary producer John Leckie and while influenced by Miles Davis and Phillip Glass (to name just a few) the band's music can't be strictly categorized as "jazz" because much of their sound defies any kind of categorization.
