"Best Of" lists for music are ridiculous, right? The idea that we can rank the "worth" of songs and implicitly/explicitly place them in competition with each other is somewhat horrifying. I'd like to recognize this before we continue. Really, I don't mean for this to be anything more than an imperfect attempt to catalogue my own subjective musical universe, a sort of epic 7-hour-plus soundtrack to my life over the past year.
