I came across this gem of a music video today, and was reminded as to how good it actually is. The subtle nuances, the song itself, Amy’s gigantic beehive… all wrap up in a day-long jaunt through downtown Los Angeles, where Ms. Winehouse’s stylistic choices are made to seem as natural as spring in comparison to the vagabonds and degenerates she comes across. All tied together with a liquor-laced bow at the end; Amy staring longingly out the hotel window and a conspicuously placed bottle of alcohol just off center frame.
