
Elizabeth Haper is the frontwoman of Class Actress, a three-piece band from Brooklyn with a fitting name for their brand of synth-pop noir. There's a sense of claustrophobia that creeps in and out of the shadows, with hints of Depeche Mode and a less playful Feist in those airy vocals. The way she repeatedly delivers "I want to keep you in my arms" borders on obsession, but in a way that leaves you wanting more. Their debut LP Rapprocher is out October 18 on Carpark Records .
