The History of Apple Pie: You’re So Cool
The History of Apple Pie have a terrible indie-schmindy name but ‘You’re So Cool’ is terrific late 80s/90s-inspired melodic alt.rock reminiscent of the Breeders and Ultra Vivid Scene, where sharp guitars slice through the melodies and Stephanie Min’s vocals are the essence of cool. ‘Some Kind’ on the flipside ups the noise quotient, howling like a MBV or Sonic Youth, and rounds off an addictively dirty sound that cleverly contradicts their milquetoast name.
