Last night St. Vincent stopped by Letterman for a performance of her new track " Cruel ." The song is from her upcoming album Strange Mercy , out on September 13th, and it's a great sign of things to come. The chorus has the instant appeal of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Maps," but the quirky songstress keeps things a little more nimble.
