Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss, Helium’s Mary Timony, and The Minder’s Rebecca Cole first got together to record songs for the documentary film !Women Art Revolution. As luck would have it, the combination of Brownstein’s punk guitar, Timony’s grunge riffs, Cole’s unremitting keyboards, and Weiss’s bombastic drumming was ferocious and powerful.
