With Civil Music lining up the quality releases of late (the new Drums of Death and Darling Farah EPs in particular have been picking up plenty of play at the Labs), this EP from Om Unit could almost have slipped under the radar. No chance of that however as the London producer delivers some of his best work to date. The EP's press release describes his material as "mechanical soul" and for me, that perfectly sums up his unique skill of wrapping the most human of melodies and lead lines [...]
