Some might be tempted to write-off Friends' campy pastiche as sardonic, but to do so would be to miss the point-Friends is a band that is about playing with stock musical tropes rather than a band that's poking fun at something. Sure, the slide-and-pop baseline in "I'm His Girl" is almost hilariously funky and this video seems to be mocking a certain time and place, but you never get the sense that Friends takes themselves too seriously.
