Until very recently, Moodymann was nothing if not elusive. But since around the time of his Red Bull Music Academy lecture, he's appeared to take a more public approach in promoting his music. Picture This , released in tandem with Scion's A/V wing, continues this trend. Moreover, it shows the Detroit mainstay in a relatively hard-edged mode. He doesn't eschew his lush, sample-laden signatures, but there's clearly a raw, instrument-driven side at play as well.
