Sitting high up in the clouds, or the circle seating of the Royal Albert Hall as it's better known, I observe the people slowly filling up this cavernous venue. The demographic is to be expected. Overwhelmingly men and women in their late thirties and early forties, I struggle to spot a twenty-something, still less a teenager. A 'Screamadelica' t-shirt here and an 'on one' top there, this is, arguably, a night to acknowledge and celebrate the past as much as it is to enjoy the present.
