Ever since I saw Purity Ring at SXSW , I've been anticipating what was to come next. Their live set was thoughtfully put together and those two previous tracks 'Ungirthed' and 'Loftcries' are beautiful heady electronic songs. Since, then excitement has been ramped up by the Canadian duo signing to 4AD to release their debut album Shrines in July. From that album, 'Obedear' is a tiny bit more understated that the previous tracks but it bears all the hallmarks of what makes this band so magnetising for me: pinging synth [...]
