Baltimore band Lower Dens finally release Nootropics this week after much well-deserved hype. While Twin-Hand Movement may have been good, Nootropics sees Lower Dens find their own place in the scene with a rewarding, excellent experience. The krautrock-tinged lead single "Brains" was our KEXP Song of the Day several weeks ago. The track was one continuous build of energy that left you kind of puzzled but altogether satisfied, like an old Neu song.
