Adam Yauch, best known to most as the Beastie Boys ' MCA, has died according to TMZ. He was 47. Yauch had battled cancer in recent years, diagnosed in 2009 with a tumor in a parotid gland for which he had since undergone surgery and chemotherapy. The Beasties' most recent recording, Hot Sauce Commitee Part 2 was released last year to positive reviews and the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just last month, lauded by the likes of The Roots and Chuck D.
