Today, the estate of guitar god Jimi Hendrix came out against an upcoming Andre 3000-starring biopic , effectively denying the project original music or the necessary copyrights. As disappointing as this news may be, it's another in a long line of delays for musical biopics (see:  Jerry Garcia , Marvin Gaye , and Janis Joplin ).
