Tonight marks the officially release party of, in my opinion, one of the best live records I've heard in quite a while. As you can read from my review , the Shimby Presents: Live at the Empty Bottle compilation does a fantastic job of showcasing both national (Best Coast, Black Lips) and local (Hollows, Mickey) acts on the same plane. Additionally, it's a taste of the sound and vibe that's often emantaing from the Empty Bottle these days - thrashy garage rock that bends in both the heavy and psychedelic ways.
