Blog: Given and Taken in Ink

I featured Races on GTI's May mix , but I've been meaning to write in greater depth about the band and its debut LP, Year of the Witch .  It's really quite good, but I almost always get stuck on opener "Year of the Child."  There's something irresistible about it, and I've been playing it on repeat so often that I tend to neglect the rest of the album.  Which is a shame, because there are some real gems to be heard, including "Big Broom," "Song of Birds," and "The Knife."  And that's just beginning to [...]
