Blog: Music Under Fire

Photo by Cam Archer 200 Years, comprised of Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance) and Elisa Ambrogio (Magik Markers) produces slow, strummy tunes that call to mind the group Stars or perhaps Buried Beds' more somber numbers.  (Coincidentally 200 Years has a song called “Solar System”.)  Minimalist arrangements hooked on guitars harmonium and piano, passionate yet very contained vocals provided by Ambrogio, and sparse yet symbolic lyrics lay at the core of the duo's songs.  Their music is perfect accompaniment for deep introspection, or unwinding after a long, treacherous day.  They will be playing [...]
