In April this year, Chennai Live 104.8FM began a series of gigs held on the last Thursday of every month at The Taj Club House, Chennai called the Purple Fest . Aimed at promoting independent music in Chennai, the two previous editions of the Purple Fest featured performances by Chennai bands  The Family Cheese and ECR.
