Woody Allen and George Gershwin: Manhattan
It's been a while since the last installment of Scenes and Songs so I thought I'd break that streak and bring you New York Philharmonic's performance of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue alongside the opening scene of Woody Allen's equally iconic film Manhattan. Brimming with the "...coiled sexual power of a jungle cat" I could not think of a more exquisite matchup of sound and city. NYC exudes the music of George Gershwin and if you've never seen this film I hope to change that for you with this clip. Enjoy.
