Everything about  Zola Jesus 's  Conatus speaks to an other-wordly mystique, from the glitched-out tribal rhythms to the apocalyptically-tinged synthesizers. It's a tone that  Sacred Bones ' resident filmmaker Jacqueline Castel tapped when conceptualizing what a video for album highlight "Seekir" might look like.  Speaking with Dazed Digital , Castel explains that "like any great pop song or video, the goal was to communicate complexity through simplicity."
