Beth Orton – “Something More Beautiful”
The British singer-songwriter and former Chemical Brothers beautifier Beth Orton has gone six years without giving us a new album, but that streak comes to an end this fall. Orton recorded her new Sugaring Season in Portland with Decemberists producer Tucker Martine on the boards and a band full of sophisticated downtown types, including Sam Amidon, Marc Ribot, and Soul Coughing/Fiona Apple bassman Sebastian Steinberg.
