Daily Diversion – Toupée at the Empty Bottle Toupée are unsettling. In a good way. Their songs are built upon a disjointed foundation and seething tension. "Lullaby," the opening track from their latest (A self-titled Teen River cassette released in March), moves on a wave of reverb and guitar static. The band can also to fast an jagged as heard on "Shocka Con," which rushes at a punk speed with an occasional busts of anxious screams. Still, it's quite nice when the vand manages to intersect at a melodic medium like on "Bad Guy," a track that rolls furious growls and and uncooked [...]
