Toupée are unsettling. In a good way. Their songs are built upon a disjointed foundation and seething tension. "Lullaby," the opening track from their latest (A self-titled Teen River cassette released in March), moves on a wave of reverb and guitar static. The band can also to fast an jagged as heard on "Shocka Con," which rushes at a punk speed with an occasional busts of anxious screams.
