
So I have finally had some time to spend with this album, which came out Tuesday: Rufus is amazing. At first listen I was disappointed, but then I spent more time with these wonderful baroque, theatrical, gaudy pop songs and realized it might be even better than my favorite work of his, Want One . The first opens with flutes, strings, layered vocals, a children's choir and later a grown-up choir.
