Space DJz was an offshoot of Bandulu, comprising Ben Long and Jamie Bissmere. Expect dub techno. London style. From their Mute Records biog: "You know, we're really influenced by Crosby, Stills and Nash." You what? A new genre springs to mind, country techno, but wait - the best is yet to come. "And I really like Beck." A comic pause that could put Les Dawson to shame hangs in the air like a bad fart. "Yeah, Jeff Beck." You see, these lads are not the usual run of [...]
MP3: Beck - "Harry Partch" Good old Beck has released this new song, a ten minute long tribute to the avant-garde composer loved by Tom Waits and other musicians who like to bang on shit. Beck's jam uses Partch's...
According to Consequence Of Sound , a previously reliable source pins Muse to the coming year's desert fest headlining slot. Glenn Beck just bought a ticket. The dates are April 16-18. Oh and these Coachella headliner rumors? Needs more Pavement.
The idea for a full-fledged collaboration may have come in 2006 when French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg made her return to recording with her album 5:55 and utilized arranger/composer David Campbell for the string orchestrations. Campbell is also known as the father of indie-God Beck who, as it turns out, was supposed to work on the album as well, but, as he puts it, "couldn't get over there." The payback now comes back bigtime as Beck shepherds her new IRM project as producer, songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. "I pulled a bunch of songs out," [...]

Spotify are hoping to use the music you listen to in order to target adverts . It could sort-of work: If you like Robin Beck, you might want to buy Diet Coke. But it's not really this simple, is it? The Spotify founder and CEO, Daniel Ek, explained the thinking behind personalised advertising. He said: "There's a simple principle – we are trying to make a better advertising solution. We are showing that, around the data, there are things that matter. For instance, combining demography with music taste, we can group [...]
Prepare to be impressed. Here's Charlotte Gainsbourg's (with a little help from Beck) "Heaven Can Wait." I'm not saying anything else, you just have to watch it.
Award winning, Antichrist actress Charlotte Gainsbourg teamed up with American musician Beck Hansen, also known has only Beck, for her upcoming album entitled IRM . With Beck being the producer of her album, it really gives Charlotte a different sound from her previous effort, pretty much like the Keith Schofield directed-video for her lead single, Heaven Can Wait, is in no way shape of form, similar to reality.
I listen to a lot of music. A lot of music. I can't speak for AIV or Romeosidvicious, but the list of records I'd like to review for Ninebullets is about three miles long, and that's before I've sorted through anything that's been submitted for review (AIV handles the bulk of that, so his workload is exponentially larger). Point is, sometimes a record slips through the cracks. In the interest of trying to cover a few more bases, and inspired by AIV's recent 140-character Twitter reviews, I introduce to you a new [...]
Over the years Beck has truly earned his reputation as an innovator in the world of music. With both his songs and the visual images he chooses to accompany them, he has managed to push the world of music forward by leaps and bounds. From "Loser" on down through the years Beck has managed to work with some of the finest directors ever to set up behind a camera, such as Mark Romanek and the guys behind Motion Theory . For his latest [...]

My favorite piece of news in the past week is Beck's musical response to that clueless buffoon from The Fiery Furnaces , who tried to insult Radiohead, blog-style, but missed the point completely. And in attempting to cover his ass retroactively, took a swipe at Beck. Well, Radiohead, in their lofty chairs of utter superiority, ignored the noise from the male half of a middling indie rock duo, but Beck took a measured swing and, of course, won handily. As you may well be aware, Radiohead wrote and recorded a song a few months back [...]
Music video for "Heaven Can Wait" by Charlotte Gainsbourg from the album "IRM."

Beck - "Harry Partch" ; The history of the musical feud dates back centuries probably, but in the last few decades it has really been the bearer of some terrific music at the hands of the hated on. This week Beck responded to all this Matt Friedberger (of The Fiery Furnaces) vs. Radiohead vs. Himself controversy with a song dedicated to late composer Harry Partch. Now that's not the same Harry Patch that Radiohead dedicated a song to. This little tune featuring snippets from Fiery Furnaces' songs and Partch's own composition structure really takes Friedberger to town. To [...]
Atlas Sound - "Quick Canal" (ft. Lætitia Sadier) N.A.S.A. (Tom Waits & Kool Keith) - "Spacious Thoughts" Charlotte Gainsbourg & Beck - "Heaven Can Wait"
By now I'm sure you know that Charlotte Gainsbourg's new album IRM comes out on January 26th. I'm also positive that you know it was produced by Beck and that he co-wrote and performs on many of the tracks. Gainsbourg's now released the first video from the album for the track "Heaven Can Wait" and boy does it have a heavy Beck sound. Not only are his vocals often more prominent than

Sweden's Samuel L Sessions marks the release of his debut album, 'Man With The Case', with a selection of up-to-the-minute techno and house, mirroring the sounds of his Be As One release. We may have thought, yesterday, that the now three-way Fiery Furnaces-Radiohead-Beck feud instigated by the Furnaces' Matt Friedberger was over. Instead of whining via publicist or ignoring Friedberger's random attack, Beck responded by offering a fairly awesome free track called (what else?) "Harry Partch." All seemed right in the world: Radiohead had kept its silent dignity, Friedberger had been thoroughly PWNED and Beck had made sure the kids at least got something out of the media circus. But Friedberger, we've learned, just doesn't know how to gracefully accept defeat . He's [...]
