He's on fire! © NBA Jams. NY seems to have done wonders for our favorite NO emcee, given the recent tracks that have hit the net showcasing his sharp wit and tongue. Reading the chatter between Spit Vicious and Cannon , it looks like Smokey Robinson is in the can. Early early today , he fired off the Mos-produced "Breakfast" into the ethers. Then with the audios released over the past few weeks , it's all Candyland around this motherfucker. Really, [...]

Dang, another new joint from our boy Curren$y? Why yes it is, I told you I would be stepping up my game with him and when I woke up there was another track from him. Not to mention this one gets a beat from the god, Mos Def. I saw something somewhere on something called a girlfriend test. Where a rapper is good to go to truly get into the listen to when you play that shit around a girl and they don't know who he is. I gurantee 9/10 girls don't know this guy and we can keep it [...]

Someone should cue "Today Was A Good Day". Waking up and listening to so much good music, has put a smile on my face. I actually got these last night, but didn't get a chance to post til now. The "these" I speak of are two more songs from the Dame Dash x Black Keys project: Black Roc . If you haven't caught on by now, the project is the brain child of Dame Dash who became familiar with the Black Keys after a co-worker failed to invite to one of their shows. He fell in love with the [...]
According to his Twitter, Curren$y linked up with Mos Def last night to make this quick little number, "Breakfast." Although it is poorly mixed, Mos still brought some smooth and jazzy production to the table. And Curren$y, who many know for his guest verses on several Lil' Wayne mixtapes, flows over the horns-laden beat with ease. Perhaps this is just a teaser of what's to come from Mos and Curren$y in the future, as they plan on releasing music with Jay Electronica as the trio Center Edge Territory. And maybe this whole recording on the fly concept will [...]
KEYS N KRATES - Re-Mixing 101 by Keys N Krates I wish this trailer was more music and less 'tastemaker' DJ & media cosigns but I get it: who wouldn't want to show blog idols like Nick , DJ Eleven and Terry Urban talking about how fly they sh-t was? Between this and Dame Dash's BlakRoc project , I think we're seeing the future of music. But maybe that's just me.... [...]

I listen to a lot of music. A lot of music. I can't speak for AIV or Romeosidvicious, but the list of records I'd like to review for Ninebullets is about three miles long, and that's before I've sorted through anything that's been submitted for review (AIV handles the bulk of that, so his workload is exponentially larger). Point is, sometimes a record slips through the cracks. In the interest of trying to cover a few more bases, and inspired by AIV's recent 140-character Twitter reviews, I introduce to you a new [...]

I am surprised at myself. I don't know why I didn't mention the Blakroc project before this post. I got to stop being so lazy!!! For those of you that are unfamiliar with the project, now is a good time to get educated. Blakroc is the collaboration project of The Black Keys with a variety of rappers. The rappers include somke A-listers such as Ludacris, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Mos Def, Raekwon, and RZA. The Black Keys tone down the dirty garage rock and play more soulful tunes that allow the rappers to feel the soul in their bones [...]
Q-Tip kills his part of "Hope You're Happy," the new Blakroc single, outshining the shouting contributions from Billy Danze and Nicole Wray, which shouldn't be surprising, since dude is, apart from Mos Def, the only rapper who sounds totally natural over the earthy tones of the Black Keys' restrained blues. The Blakroc project is shaping up nicely, but I haven't heard anything that has rocked my socks off quite like Black Keys albums. The Blakroc Project is due out on Nov. 27. Download: [...]
