(Get'em while you can folks, if the past is any indication, they won't be around for long.) View the full Sasquatch! 2012 lineup [...]

The lineup for the annual Sasquatch! Music Festival was announced last night, which takes place May 25-28 (Memorial Day Weekend) at the scenic Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. The lineup looks solid this year, with Jack White performing solo, Bon Iver, the cast of Portlandia , and something called John Reilly & Friends, which I can only imagine is the actor, right? Portland acts other than Portlandia include M. Ward, the Shins, Wild Flag, Blind Pilot, Blitzen Trapper, the Helio Sequence, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside. Tickets go on sale [...]

Sasquatch! has shown its cards and the 11th annual version of the music festival at The Gorge in George looks good from here. Good? Actually, it looks like a doozy. Beck, Jack White, and Bon Iver will headline the four-day festival taking place over Memorial Day weekend (May 25-28), and the rest is an impressive cast that seems to go on and on: The Shins, The Roots, The Walkmen, St. Vincent, Feist, tUnE-yArDs, Charles Bradley, The War on Drugs, Beirut, Alabama Shakes, Mogwai, Little Dragon, Shabazz Palaces and scores more. Rarely will a band come around that encapsulates the full spectrum of what we try to do here at Hidden Track. As purveyors of improvisational music, indie rock, Americana and general open-mindedness, there's a very short list of bands who embrace those same interests in one fell swoop. However, Montreal-based Plants and Animals are one of those rare anomalies. [Photo by Caroline Desilets] Taking their latest standout album, The End of That , as case in point, Plants and Animals take sharp sonic turns from track to track, [...]
You didn't hear this from us, but an error recently on the Sasquatch website inadvertantly revealed a partial list of performers for this year's version of the annual festival scheduled to take place May 25-28 at the Gorge. These are all unconfirmed acts, in other words, but we only have to wait a couple of days to see the entire lineup anyway-- the announcement party happens this Thursday at Seattle's Neptune Theater and features Junip, Nada Surf's Matthew Caws, and The Physics. Nevertheless, it's fun to start to think about what kind of dream bill [...]

So I've kind of been putting off writing about the inaugural Treefort Festival in Boise, ID. Not because I don't want to, but because I'm afraid when I write one post about a group of performers, that another awesome batch will be announced the next week. But that wait is finally over, as I'm brimming with excitement with their 5th round of announcements today. Modern day MPC maestro araabMUZIK, 20112s breakout artist and queen of the guitar EMA, along with Portland's modern folk outfit Y La Bamba have all been added to what was already an outstanding bill. [...]

Brooklyn experimental pop outfit Dinosaur Feathers released its debut LP, Fantasy Memorial , in 2009. At the time, the album's tropical vibe and sunny instrumentation were right at home amongst similar-sounding acts also on the rise. Since then, the group has toured relentlessly and reconfigured their own sensibilities for their latest LP, Whistle Tips , due out April 10th via Ernest Jenning. According to press for the LP, the band haven't left the beach-esque sound behind entirely. Rather, they've infused it with influences from The Soft Boys, The Olivia Tremor Control, XTC, and Paul [...]

Over the last few years M. Ward has been spending a good majority of his time concentrating on collaborative projects, with both the indie-folk super-group Monsters Of Folk, who released their debut in 2009; and She & Him, his vintage-pop collaboration with doe-eyed actress Zooey Deschanel, putting out their sophomore album, as well as a holiday record. For 2012, the singer-songwriter will go back to being a solo act, as Ward will release his seventh studio album A Wasteland Companion on April 10 via his longtime label Merge Records. The day following [...]
In case you missed it, the lineup for this year's Wakarusa Music Festival was finalized late last week. Topping the bill is a solid eclectic mix with Pretty Lights, The Avett Brothers and Primus all set to headline the festival, with LMB favorites Umphrey's Mcgee, Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, Big Gigantic, EOTO, Orgone, Blitzen Trapper [...]

In the next few days, when I gather up too many $100 dollar bills, I will spend them all on a fucking ticket. A ticket, my friends, to a motherfucking festival. Pardon the language but I tell you what, my ass is jazzed. After a 2011 spent purchasing tickets (Cotton Jones, The Sheepdogs, Iron & Wine, and GAYNGS) and then realizing as dates approached that holy shit dude, I'm a single mom with a job, there's NO WAY I'm making that gig, I had to bail. All that money down the drain, all those good times enjoyed by [...]

Portland band The Parson Red Heads are mates with Blitzen Trapper which should give a slight indication of their sound. 'Burning Up The Sky' is upbeat Americana from their recent album 'Yearling' and it's yours for free. Parson Red Heads - Yearling - Burning Up The Sky by PressWolfPR
