Tweet vaso link I don't really feel like 2011 has been one of those years where one album or artist has just dominated indie music press coverage like we've seen in the past couple of years. We've had nothing like 2010-style Kanye, no world conquering magnum-opus like Merriweather Post Pavillion, no truly incendiary debut like Myths of the Near Future. Let's be honest, even GaGa had quiet one compared to 2010, meat dress and "Judas" aside. [...]

Welcome to Scotland, a country scarred by sectarianism, which has no chance of being eradicated while schoolchildren as young as four are separated by the religious leanings of their parents. That's the bad news. On the positive side, it's a nation of picturesque hills and romantic lochs, with weather that isn't as bad as people make out (our summers are quite pleasant once they get started - just don't assume you've seen the last of the snow when the calendar flips over to April). One of the best things about this country, though, is [...]
Today, Manchester Warehouse Project announced the line-ups so far for their last season of gigs under Piccadilly railway station. As reported last week, they've decided to call it a day and will close out their final season at Store Street with a marathon, 17-hour dance night. This penultimate Manchester WHP event to ring in New Year's 2012 has already sold out, but a "very special guest" has yet to be announced. We wait with baited breath... As should be expected, the line-ups for autumn and winter 2011 [...]

October see's Carl Cox and Sven Vath goes head to head, a Hospitality takeover with High Contrast and London Elektricity and [...]

This year's Warehouse Project lineup was announced today. As usual it boasts an eclectic mix of performances by some groundbreaking international artists. The beats break on Saturday 17th September and the former air raid shelter on Store Street will be reverberating with bass all the way up to New Years Day. Voted the best club in the UK by dance music magazine Mixmag, The Warehouse Project's first run of club nights were held in 2006 at a disused brewery in Strangeways. Since then the club has hosted some of the best musicians in the world, DJs such as [...]
The new singles for your perusal - featuring lots of totally uncalled-for name-calling. SINGLE OF THE WEEK Yasmin - 'Finish Line' Some people - grannies - moan that all pop music nowadays sounds the same, it's all bang bang bang and you can't make out the words. This proves them wrong. There's a nice, filthy drum sound on this so crank it up because verily it is ace. 'Finish Line' is not auto-tuney, and not full of those bright David Guetta house sounds that people complain about and so it's something of a bit [...]

It appears that the many predictions that Radiohead would release new music soon were right. Two weeks ago Radiohead released a 123 with two songs: Supercollider and The Butcher . Neither of these songs were on King of Limbs . But there's something I want to point out: these songs are the first of many "branches" from King of Limbs . King of Limbs is in reference to an [...]

It appears that the many predictions that Radiohead would release new music soon were right. Yesterday, Radiohead released a 123 with two songs: Supercollider and The Butcher . Neither of these songs were on King of Limbs . But there's something I want to point out: these songs are the first of many "branches" from King of Limbs . King of Limbs is in reference to an ancient tree [...]
On February 14th, Radiohead shared some love with their fans by announcing their new album would be released digitally in just five days. But today, Radiohead surprised fans again by releasing The King of Limbs a day early, along with a music video of Thom Yorke dancing. The physical release is being billed as the Newspaper Album , with two clear 103 vinyl records, a CD, and over 625 pieces of artwork. While it's impossible to evaluate a Radiohead [...]

On October 10th, 2007, Radiohead released In Rainbows to the world in a way that kept people abuzz for months. After finishing the album they decided to release it digitally in a "pay what it's worth" model, announcing it ten days before the release, with a desire to further the discussion of what digital music is worth. The approach proved wildly successful, and today the "pay what it's worth" model is offered by digital distribution sites such as Bandcamp . Less [...]
