Ahhh February, when the weather is not consistent, children of love find more ways to spend money on each other and we at Kick Kick Snare show our lust for all of you, by throwing 20 songs on a digital mixtape (CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE). We here at KKS are extremely excited for February, why? Because we've got some monstrous, mind melting, disco ball-breaking stuff going on backstage, and we will soon be inviting you to the VIP room. In light of this exciting month in KKS history, I thought it would be interesting to expand our horizons with [...]
Like the fictionalized Wonder Woman characters their namesake is generated from, Silver Swans come equipped with a powerful set of pipes. Returning with Forever , the duo of Anna Yu and Jon Waters craft an electropop sound of memorable force led by Yu's glassy soprano. Their comic book counterpart may be out for destruction, but this pair of Silver Swans is more likely to dazzle. While Forever remains vocally sound, the mismatched instrumental ideas prevent the album from being a complete smash. It's a case of confusion with slow-moving, ethereal numbers that allow Yu's vocals [...]
Just like in high school and college sports, the music industry has become enamored and obsessed with discovering the next profound promise of potential. Originally started in 1987, SXSW has matured and blossomed into the premier talent showcase for musicians around the world. As we journey towards this incredible opportunity, we decided to take an in depth look at some of the thousands of up and coming artists who will be performing. Anyone that has ever been or considered going to experience a massive event like this knows [...]
This song contains our favourite lyric of 2012 (so far - it's still only February). The song is called 'Reptile' and it's by Citizens . It's a bit of a mix of Bowie, Sound Of Arrows and the songbook of Space. We don't really like the first thirty seconds, but after that it goes amazong. There's also a duck in the video. A DUCK! (not a reptile FYI) They're our favourite band to come from the Kitsune stable since Two Door Cinema club, and if indie was [...]
Yo, I've updated the Stop Okay Go You Tube page with my fave songs of this week: Summer Twins The More I Think of You , Benjamin Francis Leftwich Pictures , Zoot Woman It's Automatic , Big in Japan Suicide A Go Go , Sound of Arrows Conquest and Django Django Default .
Aww yeah, here's the one for today. The new Sound of Arrows was produced by Richard X who did one of my fave songs ever Annie's Girlfriend . I love the singer's mocking attitude and how he drags out the syllables in the word connnggg-quessst. You can almost see the crowds clapping in time in concert.
Maps & Atlases have let loose a cryptic trailer for their upcoming release Beware And Be Grateful . Not entirely sure what it means...if we're looking at a concept album or what, but I do hope there will be more of these shorts. I'm liking the album's crossed arrows logo, as well the snippet of new material at the end of the video sounds awesome...a fuller sound than I'm used to from the band. Beware and Be Grateful will come out on April 17th 2012.

Today sees the release of the newest opus from Elephant Micah. Being big fans around Slowcoustic HQ, this is an even bigger day as we also have a quick interview with Joe O'Connell along with our post on the album! The album is "Louder Than Thou" and is released from O'Connell's own label Product of Palmyra in digital and vinyl formats. It is 6 tracks of what might be called a return to form if you thought that was even needed from this Indiana project. First off, it [...]
It's obvious that more is better than less in some cases. Sometimes all it takes is one person or entity to make something amazing and it always makes me ecstatic to just talk about out of "the norm" ideas. My friend Geoff Morgan used to fling his paint brush at a blank piece of sheet music and speckle the thing with water color. He would then proceed to write that music into an electronic music program on his computer as if he were that up and comer shredder Jason Becker, who lost feeling in his lower limbs only to lose [...]

New Visitor Remix and of Sound of Arrows ?? Oh, hell yes! Check it, download it, play it... Spread the gospel of good music to all, far and near. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Despite a clutch of decent reviews, last year's debut album 'Lights & Offerings' was largely overlooked, but those of us who took notice found a set of top-grade 80s inspired electro-pop. Since then the stability in camp Mirrors has seemed questionable (although I stress that no problems have been reported by the band themselves). Festival appearances and and dates supporting their spiritual forefathers OMD were cancelled, apparently as they were too busy working on new material. It would certainly seem an odd move to call off such fantastic promotional opportunities. A few weeks later it was announced that [...]

Melbourn, Australia's Woollen Kits have just released their self-titled debut album via RIP Society and have commenced a tour of the US this week. These are three brave young men, embarking on a tour of the US virtually unknown and with no American record label. On the plus side they have a new record under their belts, and probably feel unstoppable. Of course, they may just be crazy. The self-titled album is crazy, as in crazy good. The band has two singers, one makes them sound like the Clean and [...]

Pearl Fiction (Per Störby from Zeigeist) releases his debut album Painted Wolf tomorrow (on Bibbi Records/Sony); he just uploaded the title track onto his Youtube, which you can stream above. I heard Malin from Niki & the Dove, Stefan from The Sound of Arrows and Per's partner in crime Kitty Jutbring all feature on the album.
![[MUST HAVE] Bright Light Bright Light: Blueprints 1 EP Review](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4008646_lg.jpg)
Long time favorite of mine Bright Light Bright Light , aka Rod Thomas, just released his first US EP today. Blueprints 1 is a beautifully rich, honest, and touching collection of songs from one most talented musicians in the pop world. Blueprints is a stark and gorgeous departure from the textured, emotional synth-pop he has become loved and known for. Stripped down to a single piano, Rod's voice and the voices of musicians he has worked with over the course of a year hard at work creating his debut album. In a letter to fans Rod [...]
VISITOR is pleased to share their new remix of "Wonders" by The Sound of Arrows. This remix is included on the 12" that Neon Gold released last month, copies are still available here. "Wonders... **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.
It's just our luck that yesterday, the one day we can't post anything due to being on strike to protest against barbaric proposals to cripple the internet, the amazing Visitor drops a reMix of the equally amazing The Sound Of Arrows ' 'Wonders'. It took a lot of willpower not to turn scab! This reMix is worth waiting for though, it's like a SynthPop dream. Visitor have perfectly captured the essence of The Sound Of Arrows, and given it their own little twist. Keeping the uplifting euphoria of the original the Visitor boys add a [...]

The Sound Of Arrows debut album, Voyage , was one of my favorite LP's of 2011 and their latest single ' Wonders ' is an epic synth filled dream-pop bit of amazing! VISITOR has reworked the amazing sound, added in a bit of twinkling synths, bass and some funk to really make something new and wonderful.
