This month marks the 10th anniversary of Fluxblog. I will be doing a few things to celebrate the occasion over the course of the year, but the main thing is that I will be putting together survey mixes for each year the site has existed. Wow. Onslo's Quartumdimensio ᴁdificium is a barrage of noise—but what fantastic noise it is! It's as though Karl Alverez and Bill Stevenson, the rhythm section of the Descendents and ALL, joined Weezer and started covering Frank Zappa tunes. This record is fast and hard with angular edges and bombastic choruses. Its 7 tracks clock in at well under 15 minutes so the only drawback is that it's over so damn quick. Rick Rubin's name can often be found printed next to the word "Producer" on albums for Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, and Weezer. His latest venture, however, sees him take on the role of remixer. Rubin has reworked Justice's new single "On'n'On", and the end result appears as a b-side on the January 30th digital release . You can also stream the remix below (via Stereogum ). Erol Alkan, Tiga, and Video Village also made remixes and those tracks appear alongside Rubin's.
