By now it's fairly obvious that everyone who's anyone is hitting the road this spring. Wilco , The Avett Brothers , A.A. Bondy , Spoon , Surfer Blood , etc, etc... Well, now you can add Los Campesinos! to the mix, as the bratty-but-lovable kids from Cardiff, Wales, will make their way to the States to support their latest effort, Romance is Boring (You know, one of our Top 35 albums to buy this year?). There aren't many dates yet, but the band's [...]
"Girl with guitar" Tiffany Page , who you may have caught in Jess's Bands to Watch post last week, is hitting the road over the next few months on an extensive UK tour. She will be doing a run of gigs in smaller venues before a stint supporting the Noisettes throughout February and March. Don't miss your chance to see the songstress with "the sassy swagger of Chrissie Hynde, Shirley Manson's vampish purr and the hellion roar of Courtney Love" before she makes it big! Tuesday 19th January 2010 [...]

You can guess a person's age by their wrinkles, skin tone, voice, laughter lines, sagginess... and how they choose to spend Hogmanay. TEENAGERS: Miraculously immune to the cold, they can be found in mini-skirts and paper-thin shirts, soaking up the great outdoors at a plastic-strewn city-centre street party whilst trying to avoid being felt up by strangers. EARLY 20s : It's time to go indoors for that annual dose of ticketed fun, almost certainly at an overpriced nightclub or awkwardly underpopulated gig venue. [...]

Photography via Laredo Community College You know I love riding my bicycle. Alot. I ride all the time, rainy, sunny, cold, hot, everything in between. It makes me happy, even when it is physically quite uncomfortable. But, I'm no one trick pony, it has always been my burning desire to dominate in three wildly popular sports. So, besides cycling, I've also participated in a season of curling a couple years back . Granted, we only won one game the [...]
On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me, ten lords a-leaping... and a whole bunch of Christmas MP3's. For whatever reason, holiday-themed music makes me want to drink something strong, how about you? Anyhow, Jim from Kid You'll Move Mountains told me that he really liked the A Very Milky Christmas EP, so I've posted both the Promise Ring and Dismemberment Plan tunes from it below. There are also a few other awesome songs as well. MP3: Aberdeen City - Just Like Christmas [...]

This is an ever changing and (hopefully) expanding list of some of the songs I have mentioned before in this blog or simply stuff I have found somewhere on the web that I find interesting, but have no time to write about. All files have been found somewhere in cyberspace (and NONE of them have uploaded by me, so I cannot help you with any requests you might have - just keep returning and something new might pop up), so they will be available until the artists, record labels, fans, whatever decide to remove them. Thanks to a few readers, [...]

A couple of weeks ago saw And So I Watch You From Afar play the final ever secret show in the basement of AU Magazine . From these photos by Richard W. My obsession with this thing called music started at university. Up until that point my cassette collection had contained an unhealthy number of works by European dance legends 2 Unlimited and Maxx . Then came Freshers' Week and my first introduction to live music. It was loud, it was beautiful, it was B*Witched . All four of them were miming but oddly that didn't seem to offend me as my feet danced the most perfect Irish jig in unison with these goddesses off the telly. Surely, but slowly, my music tastes evolved [...]
