It's Tuesday again, which for the next four months or so will be known as "LOSTday" to a community of television nerds to which I belong. Rather than make some bold predictions about what is going to happen on tonight's episode, or write a recap of last week's stellar season premiere, I'm going to write briefly about two conversations I had with friends this week. Each one led to a crazy revelation which - and I don't want to build us up to be geniuses or anything - I have never once read about on any LOST related-website. [...]

When we interviewed Xavier Rudd last month , we learnt of his environmentalist outlook and energy saving, disconnected house. We heard the lively stage-front greeting as he hung up the phone and stepped into an Australian arena, and we absorbed his love of 'energy', how grateful he feels to have developed his almost nomadic lifestyle and his ambitions for the world. In fact, there was only one thing we found it hard to go into great detail with Xavier on, and that's his music: spiritual, heady and close to the heart. His music, fortunately, speaks for itself. [...]
Spain's Buffetlibre DJs are busy guys, when not DJing, reMixing, producing and spearheading some of the more interesting multi-artist projects around are throwing their weight behind Amnesty International to highlight human rights abuses around the world. To highlight the worldwide injustices that AA work so hard to stop Buffetlibre's unique concept for their charity compilation album is to create a 'musical atlas' featuring many and varied artists from around the globe. Such as the first 'single' from the album. 'Mike' by Ivri Lider , one of Israel's most successful singer/songwriters, with this [...]
The Buffetlibre duo have come up with an impressively unique concept for their PEACE compilation album that is due for release on 1st March - creating a musical atlas of the world with songs from each and every corner (or at least from more than 50 countries). These aren't just unknown artists either, they've got Voxtrot from the USA, Official Secrets Act from the UK, The Hidden Cameras form Canada, The Toxic Avenger form France plus many other less recognisable but no less impressive acts from Lebanon to [...]
Hugh Cornwell is a man with equal parts grit and wit. He has been an acclaimed writer and live performer since his time as the primary songwriter, singer, and guitarist of punk and new wave legends The Stranglers. His recently released eighth album, Hooverdam, is an eloquent and exciting mix of rhythm & blues, rock and post-punk. Hugh will also cross the Atlantic this Spring and treat his US fans to his fiery live show. Though he may be one of the UK's finest talents, Hugh's [...]
Our friend Marc from Buffetlibre ( http://www.buffetlibredjs.net ), Barcelona just got in contact with us regarding their new project called PEACE , in collaboration with Amnesty International that will be released digitally on March 1, 2010 and one which we will be a media collaborator. All proceeds from the sale of the compilation will go to Amnesty International's campaigns on human rights. Although we are primarily an electronic music blog and this isn't, we still can't say no to giving a helping hand. [...]

Thursday Night used to be jam night. The boys would get together and break out the instruments, amplifiers and vocals. Soon, we didn't sound half bad - maybe 60% good. Encouraged, we continued this musical play for a few years. One of the guitarists, Jim, got into digital home recording studio technology. Whether it was adding a new (or old) computer, a patch bay or shielding the pickups on a Stratocaster, Jim was, and is, always tinkering. He builds, markets and sells homes for a daytime job. His mechanical skills match his tinkering skills. [...]

Carcrashlander: Where to Swim Parks and Records released Where to Swim by Carcrashlander last year. Rooted in Portland, Oregon the album comes off sounding downcast like their home cities winters. Lead singer Cory Gray doesn't sing so much as mix singing and speaking in a hushed way. His voice makes him seem uninterested in the music. Make no mistake, while his crooning is down he does infuse his passion through the other instruments he plays. Gray plays keyboards and he can really work them when he wants to. On "Boat Full of Buckeyes" he livens up [...]

The following is a four part 8+ series based upon songs from the film 'Children of Men', the film itself, and the writing of Jorge Luis Borges. All of the songs featured here are originally from the 'Children of Men' soundtrack. This series was originally published sequentially over a four week period and has been collected here to allow you to read the entire story in one place, in order. "Fragments of a Prayer" by John Tavener & [...]

Danny Perez & Animal Collective Oddsac Sundance Film Festival 2010 Spoiler alert, I guess- can you spoil something with no plot? Two weekends ago we had the opportunity to view what director Danny Perez and Animal Collective have dubbed their "visual album," Oddsac. Early information about the film noted that the film was said to be all based on a singular image the band had thought up- a sad Dracula on a boat. That is all I knew [...]
Performances from Wilco, Van Dyke Parks, BOAT, The Gourds, Blue Giant, and Laura Gibson & Ethan Rose, plus new releases from Yeasayer, Hot Chip, Gil-Scott Heron, Galactic, and The Watson Twins highlight a busy week ahead in the Rose City. Those dudes up there attended Yale. They're ambitious and reliable. If I were forced to hop in a boat with 9 other dudes for my own safety, I'd be pleased to have these young lads at the helm. We're not as reliable at Citizen Dick, or at least we haven't been over the last three days. As such, our usual Sunday Radio Dick is being hit a bit early this week. We'll hit you five tracks today and five tracks tomorrow. Big things have been going on around our Eastern Campus this week that have forced to go idle for [...]

For this week Sunday Video i ask Ababil Ashari (a lo-fi-emo enthusiast/med school student) to curate this week video, and here we go, he shares some knowledge and his favorite videos for you. Enjoy this week theme "Emo" 01. Jimmy Eat World - "Rockstar" 2nd generation Jimmy Eat World is my absolute favorite emo band. For me, Jimmy Eat World's take on emo, especially during the Capitol years, is the most honest and unpretentious version out there. You really know what it feels like [...]

Sonic Sanctuary - Thursday 4th Feb - The Croft Bristol Xulsigiae's set was a grungy pleasure, even if I missed a massive chunk, Dsic spewing out the sonic dentistry, the guitarist cutting out Arto comparisons, mopping up the fuzzy edges with his fret candy and a drummer knocking the shit out of his kit - a totally head on vibe... relentless right up to the frazzled end. Following on from the above, [...]
