For ramblings on how I came to compile this list go here . And for commentary on previous selections: [ #50-46 ] [ #45-41 ] [ #40-36 ] [ #35-31 ] [ #30-26 ] 25. Kid A - Radiohead (2000) While I completely understand my own enthusiasm for this album, I can't say that I really get why everyone else loves it so much. I've noticed that it's already topped some other 'best of the decade' [...]

Photo by Joe Mangat . Well, after a trip up to Portland, Oregon and a bout with a still-lingering illness, I'm finally back up in this. Perfect timing too, because there's a lot goin' on right now. Most notably, you can now stream a song from the most exciting effort still waiting to see an official release this year - Animal Collective 's Fall Be Kind . "Graze" opens this stunning EP with a languid interplay of sounds and soaring vocal trade-off between Avey Tare and Panda Bear before transforming into [...]
İskoçyalı dört gençten oluşan And So I Watch You From Afar bu senenin akılda kalan çıkışlarından birini yapacağa benziyor.
Originally inspired by the Bowlie Weekender with Belle and Sebastian in 1999, All Tomorrow's Parties has turned into something of a global phenomenon - albeit in a cult-ish sort of way, an experience like no other, and now an experience that has made it on to the silver screen with ATP: The Film. Those interested in ATP tend to be so in a very dedicated fashion and as such, much of the material in this film has been compiled using footage taken by over 200 musicians, fans and filmmakers; leaving the lucky editor with about 600 hours to sift through [...]
High school yearbook pages are deservedly notorious for their questionable content. Mine committed none of the following common mistakes: 1) I did not profess my love to a girl that I would stop speaking to within months. 2) I did not make any inside jokes. 3) I did not post some picture of kids at a party under the supposed coolness of having a "party picture" in the yearbook with the school's

Apparently, they're an exciting force live so make sure you catch them on one of the following dates: Thu 26th Nov/ London / 93 feet east w/ Wavves Fri [...]

BEST ALBUMS OF THE NOUGHTIES The daunting task of putting together something that you know lots of readers won't agree with is never easy, but then we thought you could always go make your own lists. At least we had the balls... So the 50s had rock n roll, the 60s had it's pop and folk, the 70s it's punk, disco and glam, the 80s it's pop, hip hop and hair rock, the 90s it's grunge, brit pop and dance music. It begs the question - what standout genre defines the [...]

The end of the decade is nearly upon us which inevitably means everyone is about to start rolling out their "best of" lists. This proved to be a rather arduous task, but at the same time I had a lot of fun during the process as it forced me to go back and listen to a lot of albums that I hadn't heard in quite some time. It seems like we tend to get so caught up on trying to hear as much new music as possible that we forget to go back and appreciate many of the [...]

Fuck Buttons' Tarot Sport is quite the departure from last year's Street Horrrsing. The growls and throat-torturing vocals did not survive the evolution, but that's what made Horrsing an album of schizophrenia; you wanted to enjoy both the wind chimes and the scream. Often the battles of pretty and the profane overwhelm the ears, but wasn't that the point?Being an instrumental album, Tarot
...at least according to NPR listeners . Check it out after the jump, then read and listen to the whole All Songs Considered piece HERE . I've really enjoyed reading all these "decade-end" lists so far, and in my opinion this list seems to come closest to accurately reflecting the decade in music. If you're interested, you can also find a running list of such lists at largehearted boy . Check 'em out and see what made the decade in music for everyone. Here's NPRs list of "The Decade's 50 Most Important Recordings": [...]
