I cannot express to you how unbelievably excited I was to hear back in January that The Weakerthans were releasing a live album/concert film. According to a story from the BBC , the musician has also written the songs for the project, which is billed as "part play, part gig, part art installation." Instead of being at a friend's stag do in Berlin I am stranded in Edinburgh. Even more frustrating, this stag do was going to involve going to a football match and indie clubs instead of strip bars and nightclubs, so would almost certainly have been excellent fun. There's definitely a restraint to the songs on Chris Page 's new solo album, A Date With a Smoke Machine , but don't take that to mean the songs are in anyway restricted. Page's work with Camp Radio or The Stand GT may be rooted in punk and rock, but on this solo album he's let his inner singer-songwriter out for some air, and he's certainly breathing deeply. More Names Confirmed For Green Man 2010
Back in December of last year, 'The Flaming Lips' were confirmed as the headliners for the 'Green Man Festival 2010' and now, a host more names have been revealed for this years incarnation. Beirut, Field Music, Billy Bragg, Alasdair Roberts, Mathew And The Atlas and Cass McCombs make up half of the ten new names that will all play their part at the Welsh Festival on the weekend of August 20th - 22nd at Glanusk Park.
