So the ' Boy 8 Bit Remixes' pack dropped and boy im happy, has a few gems like The Black Ghosts 'Anyway You Choose To Give It' dub/mix but overall a heap of new b ies from the long haired beast! Each mix is characterised with a signature tone and effect we have known to love from the 8 bit man. Favorite is this bleep-tastic tick-tock extravaganza from Phunk Electric . It's never easy to map out an entire decade in music. So, in constructing the "Decade in Music" interactive timeline , we sought to shape it with some of the bigger tent-pole trends, news (Elton John performing with Eminem) and groundbreaking changes in the industry, business and technology (Napster, the iPod). We also wanted to highlight albums (Britney Spears, Danger Mouse, Radiohead) that took a snapshot of the era, as well as deaths (Ray Charles, Johnny Cash) that affected everyone. And, of course, we wanted to include the occasional "wardrobe malfunction" controversy or bizarre curiosity ("Trapped in the Closet") [...]

This being her third album in seven years, you couldn't accuse Kate Walsh of being prolific compared to many of her peers. She has, however, changed her style over time. This release is far more country rock than the jazzier pop of Tim's House , yet it still retains the beautifully constructed vulnerability of both her previous works. The fragile singer songwriter (a la Joni Mitchell) is still present but, if anything, this album builds on it with aspects of alt-country and Gram Parsons, complete with all the inherent self doubt and insecurities. [...]

James Huggins has just released a catchy new track, "No No Baby" under the moniker James Husband. It starts out slow, acoustic and low-fi and quickly electrifies and builds into psychedelic yuminess. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a sampled sitar. And the album art is beautiful, too. Stream "No No Baby" by James Husband from LaLa of Montreal's own James Husband (aka James Huggins) has been assembling recordings for at least a decade, and now at last Polyvinyl Records has released his [...]

La route semblera si courte maintenant... Thanks Andrea ! This time next week, Len & I will be en route in a 10' U-Haul from San Diego to San Francisco to embark on our next great adventure. I put together this mix to help ease the long drive up the coast of California. Hopefully these songs move you along and get you through a daunting task, as well. When I was at the Brighton Colour out of Space festival recently (see below - too tired to post more links!), I received a phone call to inform me that my dear friend Mervyn Gould had died from a heart attack a couple of days before, linked apparently to his diabetes problems. I had only spoken to him on the Tuesday that week and taken a rain check (a phrase he would have hated! - 'An Americanism, dear boy!') on meeting him the next day because I was busy. We agreed to convene on my return to the [...]

The Arusha Accord The Echo Verses A Wolf At Your Door Records 12 October 2009 by Angie Louder I kid you not, I had to listen to this three times to actually realise I just listened to the new album from The Arusha Accord . The first time, my mind drifted and I ended up looking at Facebook...damn you, foul tempter. The second time, I errrmmm...have no idea. [...]

(Editor's note: today's interview comes to us with permission from Cleveland Bachelor , where the Q&A was originally posted. Yesterday was one of those work days that you dread, meeting after meeting after meeting. From the moment I got to work until nearly 4 PM, I was shuffling from one room to another, trading brain cells for increased self-loathing every additional minute. Mere seconds after finally sitting down in my chair back in my dank big boy office, the alarm on my phone went off. I looked at it, wondering what it was I was reminding myself [...]
